Collection: A Faint Transport

In A Faint Transport, Grindrod draws on art historical images of 'The Deluge' to explore the threat of climate-induced flooding to all life forms. She combines these with the biblical myth of Noah’s Ark to consider where our hope might be put in ‘end-times’, considering the frail means of safe passage available to us within the chaos and fraughtness of contemporary life.

Grindrod’s title also references dreaming as the means to transport us to more expansive realms – a necessary corrective to our overwhelmingly concrete world. Her body of work comprises paintings and collages on canvas and paper.

Grindrod is currently based in Cape Town, South Africa.
