Sihle was born in 1999 in Durban KwaZulu – Natal, South Africa. He lived in Mthwalume with his grandmother and other family relatives until they moved to Mgababa in 2003. Shozi went to Umnini Primary School where him and other people around him started to notice his talent or skills of drawing. He then moved to Umlazi in 2012 to live with his mother and his uncles. During that time he was in high school at Zwelibanzi High School Shozi developed his skills in drawing and he received an award certificate by scoring 100% in Visual Art in 2016. Shozi received his Diploma in Fine Art in 2021 from Durban University of Technology. He has exhibited in many group exhibitions at Durban University of Technology Art Gallery and at City Hall, Durban Art Gallery. Shozi’s work has been written about in South African Briefly News and he has been interviewed in Tag My School about his work. Shozi has been working more on portrait commissions in the past few years. He is currently working on a series of artworks titled “She’s stronger than imbokodo, she is an Iron” where he is talking about him being raised by his grandmother/ the strong bond in their relationship and how strong his grandmother is as human being also as woman. His art practice is taking place in his home studio at Durban Mgababa.
