L’MAD Collection was founded by curator, Lucy MacGarry in 2012. L’MAD is a South African fashion brand that creates limited edition collections to promote local artists and designers. The ethos behind L’MAD is to create garments and accessories that remain in constant dialogue with contemporary African art.

Receiving positive reviews both in South Africa and abroad, L’MAD boasts clients such as Patti Scialfa (Bruce Springsteen’s partner), and retail veteran Jennifer Walsh. Creative Review UK featured a L’MAD scarf by Michael Taylor that was sent to celebrities David Bowie, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Eminem, Grace Jones and Ai Wei Wei for Elton John’s Love Is In My Blood campaign to raise awareness for the work of the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
