Angeline Masuku (1967) was born in Hlabisa,a town situated in Zululand, KwaZulu-Natal. Masuku began basket-weaving at eight years old and established her unique basket designs by the age of eighteen. Her baskets are made using various shapes and sizes of ilala palm and grass. Masuku is also involved in training other women in the art of basket weaving.
Masuku is a professional ABM manufacturer and owns a company based in the KwaHlabisa Mpembeni Area where she makes and distributes Zulu handmade baskets. Her baskets have been collected locally, and globally from buyers across America ( Santa Fe New Mexico ,Atlanta, New York) ,Italy, Kuwait and Germany. She attended several basket making workshops and won first prize at the 2006 FNB VITA Craft Exhibition.
