Walker is a Durban based graphic designer, who began his professional career in 1976. A consistent thematic is “what makes me African – and what does that look like?” Since 1995 he has self-published his experimental studio magazine ijusi, to world-wide acclaim.
Walker's work is represented in the collections or libraries of the Museum of Modern Art, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Minneapolis Art Institute, International Center of Photography, National Portrait Gallery (UK), Boston Institute of Contemporary Art, Biblioteque Nationale de France, The Victoria & Albert Museum, The Smithsonian, Wits Art Musuem, Stellenbosch University and numerous university and academic collections worldwide. His published work in books and magazines numbers in the hundreds.
Walker is a member of Alliance Graphique Internationale, British D&AD and a Life Member of The Type Directors Club (New York)
